I know I have told you or you have been told to drink more water. The real pandemic is the hydration levels of most humans walking around with a mask or without a mask. Over 75% of Americans do not drink enough water daily to stay hydrated. Chronic decreased water intake leads to weight gain, whole body inflammation, depression, disruptive sleep patterns. This just scratches the surface on the negative affects not consuming an adequate amount of water daily. How much water should I be drinking, Mike? Glad you asked! A good starting point is 1/2 of your body weight (lbs.) in fluid ounces. If you are 150lbs., you should be consuming at least 75 fluid oz. of water. This does not include sodas, alcohol, coffees, etc... All of these drink will cause a dehydrating affect of your body and mind. Water is so boring, Mike! I get that and to me it is boring as well. I myself add a little something something to my water. Whether it is carbonation, lemon and limes or some tart cherry juice concentrate. This does help spice it up and will not cause dehydration affects.
30-60% of people trying to lose weight, increase water intake. To what levels, that I do not know. Use the 1/2 the body weight example as your leading guidance for consumption. Bottom line,if you want to feel better and have a healthier number on the scale, try to increase your water consumption and decrease sugary drink consumption. Very easy and effective for your healthier lifestyle. Bottoms UP!
